Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026 · applies to PIXMAP 2.1 and later

1. Who we are

PIXMAP ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Pixadoo, India. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the website at www.pixmap.in, the customer dashboard, and the PIXMAP desktop application, and what we do with it. It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and, for users elsewhere, the GDPR and similar laws.

2. What we collect, and why

Account information. Your name and email address when you create an account or sign in with Google. Used to run your account, send licence keys, activation emails and support replies.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. We keep the Razorpay order and payment identifiers, the amount, currency, any promo code you used, and the invoice, because tax law requires it.

Licence information. Your licence key, activation and expiry dates, and a hashed machine identifier for the computer the licence is activated on. The identifier is a SHA-256 hash derived from hardware identifiers of the machine (such as the BIOS UUID or the Windows machine GUID, or the platform UUID on macOS). We cannot recover the original values from the hash. It exists only so a licence can be tied to one machine at a time and moved when you deactivate it.

Licence validation. While PIXMAP is running with an active licence, it contacts our licence server (hosted on AWS in Mumbai, India) to confirm the licence: at startup and roughly every four minutes afterwards, and when you activate or deactivate. Each request carries the licence key, the hashed machine identifier and the app version. Our server records the request time and your IP address in standard server logs. If the server cannot be reached, PIXMAP keeps working for up to six days on the last successful check, never beyond the licence expiry date.

Update check. At startup PIXMAP fetches a small version file from www.pixmap.in to tell you when a new version is available. This is an ordinary web request; it carries no account or licence data.

Support. Anything you send us by email when you ask for help.

What we do not collect. PIXMAP contains no analytics, telemetry or crash reporting. It does not send your projects, your media files, your screen contents, your NDI® streams or your file names to us.

3. Data that stays on your computer

Your projects (.pix files), exported images, documents and XML, and any image, video, HAP or DXV media you load into Visualize stay on your computer or wherever you choose to save them. Media is referenced by its file path and is never copied into the project or uploaded.

PIXMAP stores your licence file and the hashed machine identifier in the application data folder, encrypted with the operating system's protected storage (Windows DPAPI or the macOS Keychain). Removing the application data folder removes them.

The list of files you have opened or saved during a session is kept in memory only, so the app can write to those files without asking again, and is discarded when PIXMAP closes.

4. Network features you control

NDI® output. When you turn on "Send as NDI" or "Send patch as NDI", PIXMAP publishes that video on your local network using the NDI protocol. Any NDI-capable device or software on the same network can discover and receive it. The source name includes your computer's name, as NDI requires. Nothing is sent to us. Turn the sender off to stop publishing.

NDI® input. When you open the NDI source list, PIXMAP looks for NDI sources on your local network and, when you pick one, receives that video from the device sending it.

Display output. "Go Live" renders an output screen fullscreen on a display or processor input connected to your computer. No network is involved.

NDI® is a registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB. The NDI runtime is installed by you from ndi.video; its use is governed by its own terms.

5. Where your data is stored and who can see it

Account, licence and payment records are stored on Amazon Web Services in the Mumbai, India region (ap-south-1): AWS Cognito for sign-in and AWS-hosted services for licences and the dashboard. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS; the desktop app additionally pins our licence server's certificate) and at rest.

We share data only with the providers needed to run the service, each under its own privacy policy: Razorpay (payments), Google (if you sign in with Google), and Amazon Web Services (hosting, authentication, email delivery). We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

We may disclose data when the law requires it, to protect our rights, or to prevent fraud or licence abuse. If you use PIXMAP outside India, your data is still processed in India; by using the service you agree to that transfer.

6. Emails

We send transactional emails you cannot opt out of while you have an account: licence keys, activation and expiry notices, payment receipts and security notices. We may also send product announcements, such as new versions. Every announcement email has an unsubscribe link, or you can write to support@pixadoo.in.

7. Cookies and local storage

The website and dashboard use only the cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember your session. We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. Razorpay's checkout sets its own cookies during payment under Razorpay's policy.

8. How long we keep data

Account data is kept until you ask us to delete your account. Licence and payment records are kept for the licence term and afterwards for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted. Support emails are kept while the matter is open and for a reasonable time afterwards.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it (which ends your account and licences), or stop announcement emails. You may also nominate another person to exercise these rights for you where the law allows it, and you can withdraw consent where our processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, or to raise a grievance, email support@pixadoo.in. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India or, where applicable, your local data protection authority.

PIXMAP is a professional tool intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page with a new date, and for material changes we will email account holders. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
